COVID-19 Patient Guide

Measures to keep both you and our team safe during COVID-19 pandemic

You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and team.

We have all been through a lot over the last year or so. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.
To make an appointment, please call us on 028 9187 2482.

Thank you for your patience; we value your trust and loyalty and look forward to seeing you.

Making an appointment

You must contact us by phone to make an appointment. Please do not visit the practice without an appointment.
Based on what you tell us we will decide whether or not we are currently able to provide treatment as there are some restrictions on the type of treatment we can provide.
You will be asked to confirm your COVID-19 status. If you or any member of your household is confirmed as having COVID-19 or has any symptoms of COVID-19 we will not be able to provide treatment.
Please inform us if the patient the appointment is being made for needs to be accompanied by a chaperone or carer.
We may need to ask you questions so that we can update your medical history.
If your COVID-19 status changes before your appointment please contact us. Do not leave it until you arrive for your appointment.

Arriving at the practice

Please do not arrive early for your appointment If possible stay in your car until your appointment time to minimise the number of people in the waiting room.
Please leave any valuables at home or locked out of sight in your vehicle if you have one. Do not carry any nonessential items into the practice. If you pay for your dental treatment, please bring your payment card in your pocket.
When you arrive at the practice, please knock the door and then take two steps back, remaining in the porch, especially if its raining.
Please do not try to enter the practice as the door will be locked. A member of staff will come and unlock the door to let you in.
Please do not congregate with other patients or members of the public outside the practice, and maintain social distancing if another patient is waiting to enter.
Avoid touching door handles, railings and other surfaces in and around the practice.

Entering the practice

A member of staff will unlock the door. Please be aware that all members of staff will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)..
You will be asked to confirm your current COVID 19 status and we will need to take your temperature with a non-contact forehead meter.

This will be done before you enter the practice unless weather conditions force this to be done inside.

If your COVID-19 status has changed since your appointment was made or your temperature is high then we will not be able to provide treatment.
When you enter the practice you will be asked to use the hand sanitizer provided.

The surgery

Normally you will be taken directly to the surgery, but occasionally you may be asked to go to the waiting room.
We will not be able to maintain social distancing during your treatment so the clinician and dental nurse will be wearing more PPE than previously, but we’re the same friendly faces underneath!
Once treatment is finished, you will be escorted out of the surgery by the dental nurse.

Paying for treatment

We would prefer payment to be made by card. If you are unable to pay by debit or credit card we can provide you with the details needed to pay via online banking.
If you are unable to pay by any of the above methods, we can accept payment for treatment by cash or cheque.
Don't forget to bring your card with you into the practice.

Leaving the practice

You will be asked to use the hand sanitizer before the member of staff unlocks the door to let you out.
